This season hasn't been kind to the Seligman Antelopes, who are still winless after their 17th game. They took a serious blow against Williams on Thursday, falling 72-17. Seligman has struggled against Williams recently, as their game on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Kai Mortensen was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds for Williams. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mortensen has scored at least a third of Williams' points. Another player making a difference was Braydyn Larimore, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Seligman's defeat was their 18th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.5 points per game. As for Williams, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seligman will square off against El Capitan/Centennial Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Williams, they will head out on the road to take on Ash Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Ash Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Wednesday.
