The Littlefield Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Muleshoe Mules at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Tuesday. Littlefield blew past Idalou 21-1. The win continues a trend for Littlefield in their matchups with Idalou: they've now won four in a row.

Amaya McCanick made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. McCanick was also big at the plate, earning one RBI and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Littlefield got a massive performance out of Bryndle Ray, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Ray has posted over her last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Aleman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Littlefield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Muleshoe came out on top against Roosevelt on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Mules put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-4 victory. 11 seems to be a good number for the Mules as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Zoe Bustillos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Addilene Blanco was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Melanie Martens was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Muleshoe's record now sits at 12-3. As for Littlefield, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Littlefield hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Muleshoe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
