Having just played yesterday, the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars will get right back to it and host the St. Francis Sharks at 3:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Saturday.
After a string of four wins, San Lorenzo Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Marina an easy 69-47 win.
Meanwhile, St. Francis' 18-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-31 walloping at the hands of Salinas on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Francis has scored all season.
Sam Braun put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Rose, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
San Lorenzo Valley's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
San Lorenzo Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Francis when the teams last played on December 6th, but they still walked away with a 63-59 win. Will San Lorenzo Valley repeat their success, or does St. Francis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
