The Meigs County Tigers had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 61-60 win over Sweetwater. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Alford, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 38.3% of Sweetwater's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Campbell Hicks was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Meigs County's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Sweetwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
