Kennedy is 9-1 against Panorama since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Kennedy Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panorama Pythons at 4:30 p.m. Kennedy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Kennedy came up short against Granada Hills Charter and fell 50-40. While losing is never fun, Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 891st, while Granada Hills Charter is ranked 50th).
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Panorama proved on Friday. They put the hurt on Lake Balboa College Prep with a sharp 50-29 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Panorama as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Among those leading the charge was Christian Vargas, who scored 15 points. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Eduardo Munguia was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Panorama, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 1-3 record.
Everything came up roses for Kennedy against Panorama when the teams last played back in February as the squad secured a 86-14 victory. Will Kennedy repeat their success, or does Panorama have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
