After four games on the road, Iredell is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Evant Elks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On December 9th, Iredell ended up a good deal behind Meyer and lost 32-13.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Evant's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 53-39 fall against Priddy. Evant has not had much luck with Priddy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Luwi Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Molly Waldrum was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Iredell has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Evant, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.
Iredell came out on top in a nail-biter against Evant when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 29-26. Will Iredell repeat their success, or does Evant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
