The La Salette Academy Lions waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 53-40 victory over Clifton Central. This was payback for La Salette Academy, who suffered a 51-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Salette Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eamon Martin, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Martin hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. John Brauner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
La Salette Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Clifton Central, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 14-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Salette Academy will face off against Danville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Clifton Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
