The High Point Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Northwestern Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. High Point will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
High Point is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 27-5 margin over Bladensburg on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Wander Pe?a made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pe?a was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Northwestern entered their tilt with Eastern on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Ramblers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since May 3, 2024.
Like High Point, Northwestern also got a great game from a two-way player: Alberto Weaver. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits. Northwestern is 3-1 when Weaver posts eight or more strikeouts, but 4-6 otherwise. Weaver was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
In other batting news, Carter Williams was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Northwestern's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Nate Morrell also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
High Point's record now sits at 10-2. As for Northwestern, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Northwestern's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: High Point hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Northwestern, though, as they've only averaged .208. Will they be able to contain High Point's hitters?
Everything went High Point's way against Northwestern in their previous matchup back in March, as High Point made off with a 25-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
