Carlson found their leader in sophomore Rodney Mullins, who made all 5 shots he took for 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mullins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brody Lavis, who posted ten points.
Meanwhile, Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 68-50 fall against Summerfield. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 80th).
Carlson's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
