There's no place like home for the Mountain View Mountain Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 victory over Severance on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mountain View also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Mountain View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meghan Keil, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Alex Ellis was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Severance still got an impressive performance from Attley Helzer, who scored 19 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maisy Dennis, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Severance, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Fort Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Morgan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Mountain View is ranked 63rd). As for Severance, Severance and Niwot will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Niwot is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
