, the No. 27 recruit in the class of 2011 according to Tom Lemming, has verbally committed to Washington, choosing the Huskies over Texas.
The 6-foot-7, 250-pound
Gig Harbor (Wash.) tight end was recruited by nearly every major program. He made the announcement Monday evening at the Gig Harbor Yacht Club.
As a junior, he hauled in 63 passes for 1,076 yards and 11 touchdowns en route to earning MaxPreps Junior All-American honors.
Seferian-Jenkins is rated as the No. 2 tight end in the country, behind only Jay Rome of Valdosta (Ga.).
Seferian-Jenkins' decision was well-guarded until the very end. He sent mixed signals throughout the recruiting process.
He joins a recruiting class that includes Brendon Bigelow and Jamaal Jones, making it one of the top classes in the conference early on.
Kasen Williams, the only other Washington native in the 2011 Top 100, has yet to announce his decision. It's believed the Skyline (Sammamish, Wash.) wide receiver will choose between Washington, California, Florida, LSU and Notre Dame.
