The Woodlawn Colonels entered their matchup against the Gardendale Rockets on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Woodlawn was dealt a 59-20 loss at the hands of Gardendale. Woodlawn lost against Gardendale in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 37-20 score last time.
Gardendale was led to victory by Mac Beason and Boogie Harris iii. Beason threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns, while Harris iii rushed for 235 yards on only 15 carries. Carter Jenkins did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.
Woodlawn's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Gardendale, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.
Woodlawn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gardendale is also done with their season.
