Softball Recap: Lawrence County Has No Trouble Against Richland

Lawrence County won the last time they faced Richland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cougars put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 11-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Adaya Ball was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Addie Raye Pennington was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Lawrence County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Richland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Lawrence County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-11 victory against Loyd Star on the 4th. As for Richland, they have also already played their next match, a 5-2 defeat against Pearl on the 5th.
