Last Thursday, Teutopolis got the win against Vandalia by a conclusive 14-4. The win continues a trend for the Wooden Shoes in their matchups with the Vandals: they've now won six in a row.
Kayleigh Zerrusen was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jersey Gaddis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Casey-Westfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Aces.
Ava Goble made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Tristan Ring and Lucy Moore did most of the damage at the plate: Ring got on base in five of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double, while Moore went 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Ring is also on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabriela Frye, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Casey-Westfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Teutopolis now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Casey-Westfield, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
