If the Ogden Tigers were riding high off their 50-16 takedown of the Logan Grizzlies last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ogden fell 51-43 to Morgan on Tuesday. Ogden has struggled against Morgan recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Ogden lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Salote Tonga, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ruth Larsen was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Morgan had a senior duo take command as Abby Titus scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals and Kaydence Wardell scored nine points along with eight assists and eight steals. That's the first time this season that Titus scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Eva Birkeland, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Ogden has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Morgan, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ogden will take on South Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully South Summit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Morgan, they will be playing at home against Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Grantsville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
