Leading St. Johns Country Day to victory were Mary Kate Kent and Kendall Proffitt. Kent went 6 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 8 assists, while Proffitt scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Kent has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Mejias, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
St. Johns Country Day pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.67 points. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
St. Johns Country Day will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Duval Charter at 6:00 p.m. Duval Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 641st, while St. Johns Country Day is ranked 175th). Florida School for the Deaf & Blind won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Taylor comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
