High Tech SD is 1-9 against Kearny since May of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Storm will host the Komets at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, High Tech SD got the win against Bonsall by a conclusive 13-1. Considering the Storm have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Nano Acevedo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for High Tech SD: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, High Tech SD got a massive performance out of Landon Carroll, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Carroll is becoming a predictor of the Storm's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Izo Kobayashi, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Kearny posted their closest win since April 16th on Saturday. They skirted past Hoover 3-2.
Dominic Depositar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cameron Ackerman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. J-Cub Perez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
High Tech SD is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Kearny, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. High Tech SD has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kearny struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
High Tech SD might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Kearny in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Storm have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
