Chandler is 0-10 against Perry since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chandler Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Perry Pumas at 7:00 p.m. Chandler will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Chandler ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past Cibola with a 48-43 victory. Given Chandler's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Cibola is ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chandler's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayla Freeman led the charge by scoring 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Markayla Shirley, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Perry came up short against Millennium on Wednesday and fell 57-47.
Chandler's victory lifted them to 6-0 while Cibola's loss dropped them down to 0-3.
Chandler might still be hurting after the 69-44 loss they got from Perry in their previous matchup back in January. Can Chandler avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
