The Slidell Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 69-54 win over Frederick A. Douglass. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Slidell also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Mike Parlow was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Bonnaffons , who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Slidell now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Frederick A. Douglass, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Slidell will square off against St. Augustine at TBD on Saturday. St. Augustine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Slidell in Louisiana (St. Augustine is ranked 22nd, while Slidell is ranked 113th). As for Frederick A. Douglass, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Bonnabel at 6:00 p.m.
