In what's become a running theme this season, Evangel Christian gave their fans yet another huge victory last Monday. Everything went their way against East Central HomeSchool as Evangel Christian made off with a 70-44 victory. Given Evangel Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while East Central HomeSchool is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cade Joiner and Owen Bugnar were among the main playmakers for Evangel Christian as the former scored 17 points and the latter scored 18 points. It was the first time this season that Joiner scored 15 or more points. Hayden Black was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Grace Baptist Academy came up short against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on Friday and fell 65-56.
Evangel Christian's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.9 points. As for Grace Baptist Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.
