The Yazoo County Panthers pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Amanda Elzy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (60), Yazoo County still had to take the loss.
Jacoreyon Miller was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six assists and two steals for Amanda Elzy. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deitrick Munford, who scored 12 points.
Yazoo County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-15. As for Amanda Elzy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Yazoo County will head out on the road to square off against Edwards at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Amanda Elzy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Winona at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winona has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
