Football Recap: Piketon Piles Up the Points Against Wellston

Piketon lost to Wellston back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Redstreaks blew past the Golden Rockets, posting a 50-8 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redstreaks.

Jared Copas was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 69 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Piketon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Piketon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gavin Blanton and Herb Penix.

Piketon has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Wellston, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piketon will venture away from home to take on Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wellston, they will head out to square off against South Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
