Given Fredericksburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Fox Tech is ranked 1238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fox Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonah DeLaRosa, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Amaryon Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Fredericksburg's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Fox Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Fredericksburg will take on John F. Kennedy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully John F. Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Fox Tech, they will square off against London at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
