After flying high against Northshore V last Thursday, Midstate Homeschool came back down to earth. The Storm were dealt a 46-0 defeat at the hands of the John Paul the Great Academy Guardians on Thursday.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Riley Lormand and Luke Salvatierra. Lormand rushed for 272 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries while Salvatierra rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Lormand's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Midstate Homeschool's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for John Paul the Great Academy, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
Looking ahead, Midstate Homeschool will be playing at home against Freedom Life Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for John Paul the Great Academy, they will square off against Northshore V at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
