 Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from   Autumn Boutwell, who  went 9 of 21  on her way to 25  points and three  steals. Boutwell's evening made it seven games in a row in which  she has scored at least ten points.  Lakin Mathews was another key player,  putting up seven points and four  steals.
 Paxton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Kenzie Lassiter led the charge by  scoring 17  points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kenna Cook, who  posted ten points.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Paxton, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won 14 of their last 15 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record  this season.
 Central has already played their next matchup,  a  56-41  win against Baker on the 23rd. As for Paxton, they will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rocky Bayou Christian at 6:00  p.m.  on January 28th.
