Given Dawson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Bears are ranked 984th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dawson found their leader in underclassman Ja'lon Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Charles Anderson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Dawson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Alief Hastings, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Dawson will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Alief Hastings, they will head out on the road to face off against the Sharks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Shadow Creek's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Bears have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
