The Palmer Trinity Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 73-63 to Gulliver Prep. While losing is never fun, Palmer Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while Gulliver Prep is ranked 189th).
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harrison Miles, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Yanowitch, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Gulliver Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Brown out in front who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was David Flores-John, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Palmer Trinity's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Gulliver Prep, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2.
Palmer Trinity will take on Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Gulliver Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against True North Classical Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully True North Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
