Their rough 52-31 defeat to Desert Hills on Friday might stick with them for a while. Springville has not had much luck with Desert Hills recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Springville's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Natalie Florence, who scored 6 points. Gwen Fales was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Desert Hills was led to victory by Hannah Heaton and Jenna Brown. Heaton dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Brown scored 16 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Desert Hills' points. Another player making a difference was Ashtin Hansen, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Springville now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Desert Hills, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Springville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Snow Canyon at 12:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Snow Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Springville in Utah (Snow Canyon is ranked third, while Springville is ranked 94th). As for Desert Hills, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Salem Hills at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Salem Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
