The Brandeis Broncos entered their tilt with the Madison Mavericks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Brandeis enjoyed a cozy 52-36 victory over Madison on Wednesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Brandeis' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Madison is ranked 160th).
Brandeis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Finley Montoya, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Short, who scored 11 points.
The victory got Brandeis back to even at 13-13. As for Madison, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-11.
Brandeis will head out on the road to challenge Johnson at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Johnson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Brandeis likes a good challenge.
