The Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns will square off against the Valhalla Norsemen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rancho Buena Vista 2.4, Valhalla 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Rancho Buena Vista lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Granite Hills, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. Rancho Buena Vista's pitcher stepped up to hand Granite Hills a 6-0 shutout on Monday. The Longhorns not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th.

Not much got past Allison Keusch, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Granite Hills off the board. Those 13 strikeouts gave Keusch a new career-high.
At the plate, Maizie Smith was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Cruz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Rancho Buena Vista hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granite Hills struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, Valhalla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Eastlake. The game marked the first time this year in which the Norsemen were not able to get on the board.
Rancho Buena Vista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Valhalla's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Valhalla's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Rancho Buena Vista has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Valhalla, though, as they've been averaging only 3.2 strikeouts. Will Rancho Buena Vista keep running through batters, or will Valhalla buck the trend?
Everything went Rancho Buena Vista's way against Valhalla when the teams last played back in March of 2018, as Rancho Buena Vista made off with a 13-3 victory. Will Rancho Buena Vista repeat their success, or does Valhalla has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
