Softball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Notre Dame Academy won the last time they faced Sheboygan North and things went their way on Monday too. The Tritons put the hurt on the Golden Raiders with a sharp 21-2 win. Considering the Tritons have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Nowak made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Nowak was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Emma Jahner was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Hilts, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Notre Dame Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Notre Dame Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14. As for Sheboygan North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-18.

Notre Dame Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Pulaski on the 20th. As for Sheboygan North, they will head out to take on Bay Port at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Golden Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
