The Genesis Prep Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Classical Prep 70-38. Genesis Prep was down 54-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Classical Prep was led to victory by Andrew Ramirez and Kalan Schroder. Ramirez scored 22 points along with two steals, while Schroder scored 23 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schroder has scored all season. Brendan Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Genesis Prep's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Classical Prep, their victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Genesis Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th. Hillsborough Baptist is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Classical Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
