If the Tri-Cities Bulldogs were riding high off their 62-38 takedown of the Villa Rica Wildcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tri-Cities took a serious blow against Jackson on Saturday, falling 87-47. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tri-Cities in their matchups with Jackson: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Tri-Cities still got an impressive performance from Paris Shelton, who scored 23 points. That was a full 48.9% of Tri-Cities' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssia Bandele, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Jackson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taliah Cornish out in front who scored 22 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Shakira Gresham, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Tri-Cities' loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Jackson, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Tri-Cities will square off against Banneker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Banneker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Tri-Cities is ranked 154th). As for Jackson, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Midtown at 6:00 p.m. Midtown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three contests.
