The Graham Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The matchup between Graham and Chatham Central wasn't particularly close, with Graham falling 66-50. Graham has struggled against Chatham Central recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Chatham Central was led to victory by Katherine Gaines and Karaleigh Dodson. Gaines scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Dodson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. Gaines hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mattie Caviness, who scored six points.
Graham bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.1 points per game. As for Chatham Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Graham will take on North Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chatham Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Cummings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cummings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 577th, while Chatham Central is ranked 207th).
