The Grovetown Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-25 victory over Evans. The win was just what Grovetown needed coming off of a 53-30 defeat in their prior game.
Grovetown was led to victory by Rebecka Jones and Rhianna Williams. Jones scored four points along with 11 rebounds and five steals, while Williams scored six points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Jones pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Evans' loss came despite strong showings from Charity Joyner and Kimariya Hinton. Joyner scored eight points along with five steals, while Hinton scored five points along with 15 rebounds. Joyner's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for five games straight.
Grovetown's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Evans, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Grovetown will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Glynn Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Glynn Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Evans, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Effingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Effingham County is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
