For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Alcorn Central and Corinth meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Alcorn Central Bears took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Corinth Warriors. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Alcorn Central got a good showing from Landon O'Brien, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Alcorn Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylen Parrish, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Parrish also got two hits, marking his first of the season.

Alcorn Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Corinth, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Alcorn Central will venture away from home to challenge Tishomingo County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Corinth, they will take on East Union at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. East Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
