Asheville T and Greenville H are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Trailblazers will head out on the road to take on the Hurricanes at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Asheville T has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Asheville T is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Asheville School (Independent) with a sharp 21-11 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trailblazers considering their two-run performance the game before.
Jack Kinavy-Roesberry made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Asheville T is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6 otherwise. Kinavy-Roesberry was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sterling Haynes was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jacob Baru also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Asheville T hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Asheville School (Independent) struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Greenville H was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 12-7 to St. Joseph's Catholic.
Killian Budlong and Owen Giles did some serious damage despite the final result: Budlong scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Giles went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of James Blackburn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The victory got Asheville T back to even at 7-7. As for Greenville H, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Asheville T has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greenville H struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Asheville T came out on top in a nail-biter against Greenville H in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Trailblazers repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
