The Tradition Prep Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Morningside Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Tradition Prep beat Master's Academy 30-23. The victory was just what Tradition Prep needed coming off of a 47-23 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Morningside Academy didn't have too much trouble with Master's Academy at home on Friday as they won 38-24. Given Morningside Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Master's Academy is ranked 668th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morningside Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Arianna Wallace, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Wallace is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ari Mosley, who scored nine points along with nine steals.
Tradition Prep's record is now 3-1. As for Morningside Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
Tradition Prep was dealt a bruising 54-7 defeat at the hands of Morningside Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Tradition Prep, Delana Crawford (who scored 20 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
