On Friday Ayer Shirley/Bromfield take on Murdock at 7:00 PM. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
After a string of three wins, Ayer Shirley/Bromfield's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-34 punch to the gut against West Boylston/Tahanto. Ayer Shirley/Bromfield's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the matchup before.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their contest two weeks ago against Oxford, Murdock were happy to find some success. Murdock skirted past Gardner 8-6. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Murdock's victory lifted them to 4-1 while Ayer Shirley/Bromfield's loss dropped them down to 3-1. We'll see if Murdock's success rolls on or if Ayer Shirley/Bromfield are able to steal their positive momentum.
