Cedar hasn't had much luck against Dixie recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Reds will head out to challenge the Flyers at 7:00 p.m. Cedar is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cedar and Canyon View meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Reds' pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Reds, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Karson Duncan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Duncan was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gavin Mackert was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Colton Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Cedar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Dixie faced Salem Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Saturday. The Flyers fell 8-3 to the Skyhawks. It was the first time this season that the Flyers let down their fans at home.
Weston Gilmore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Cedar's record is now 5-7. As for Dixie, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Cedar suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Dixie in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Reds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
