The High Point Academy Grizzlies will square off against the Pelion Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While High Point Academy's victory against Landrum wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Grizzlies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Cardinals on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Julie Raines spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, High Point Academy's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cheyenne Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pelion waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Predators a 14-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Savanna Padgett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Summer Randolph, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
High Point Academy pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Pelion, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. High Point Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Pelion struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
