The Little River Academy Bumblebees will head out on the road to face off against the Lampasas Badgers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Little River Academy and seven for Lampasas.
Little River Academy fell victim to Stephenville's stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Little River Academy has struggled against Stephenville recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Lampasas also failed to score in their most recent game. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 9-0 walloping at the hands of Salado on Friday. While losing is never fun, Lampasas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 700th, while Salado is ranked 57th).
Little River Academy now has a losing record at 4-5-2. As for Lampasas, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Little River Academy took their victory against Lampasas in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Little River Academy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
