The Laurens Academy Crusaders waltzed into their game on Saturday with 22 straight wins but they left with 23. They came out on top against Cambridge Academy by a score of 48-37. That's two games straight that Laurens Academy has won by exactly 11 points.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jillian Mapes, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals. Mapes hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Indya Southerland, who scored 12 points.
Laurens Academy's victory bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Cambridge Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
Laurens Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cambridge Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
