AA District 4 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Christian Academy of Knoxville extended the longest winning streak in AA District 4 this week by beating Roane County, 56-31. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Scott made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,665 from 11,209. The improvement was the result of 35-13 victory over the Highlanders last week.
Christian Academy of Knoxville's dynamic duo of Charlie High and Josh Smith proved tough for the Yellowjackets to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. High threw for 271 yards and seven touchdowns and Smith had 158 yards receiving. Davis Howell helped Christian Academy of Knoxville's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 70 yards.
Thomas Janow was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 63 yards as Stone Memorial topped Roane County. Corey Myers also contributed to the rushing game with 37 yards on the ground.
The Warriors' High and Howell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. High has thrown for 2838 yards this season, while Howell, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 73 catches for 1093 yards. Janow from the Panthers leads the league in rushing with 898 yards.
Christian Academy of Knoxville led AA District 4 in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Blair Harrison's team. High ran for seven yards in the win.
