The Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Crossroads Christian Academy 56-34. Faith Baptist Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Faith Baptist Christian Academy to victory were Emree Mattingly and Aimee Massey. Mattingly dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals, while Massey dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mattingly has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Weaver, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Crossroads Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Molly Fitzgerald scored 14 points. That was a full 41.2% of Crossroads Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Smith, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Faith Baptist Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Crossroads Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Baptist Christian Academy will challenge the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Coastal HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday. As for Crossroads Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bible Baptist Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
