After flying high against La Jolla Country Day  last Monday, Coastal Academy came back down to earth. The Coastal Academy Stingrays took  an  8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista Panthers on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Coastal Academy of the  12-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in March.
 Coastal Academy got a good showing from  Bella Rush, who   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits.
 At the plate,  Grace Carsey and  Cayla Contreras did some serious damage despite the final result:  Carsey  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances, while  Contreras  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Aubrey Price, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 On Vista's side,  Isabella Mosley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Mosley was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Sirena Cruz, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.  Jordyn Lowe was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Coastal Academy dropped their record down to 11-15 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Vista, their win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 6-12.
 Coastal Academy will head out on the road to  challenge  Escondido Charter at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Escondido Charter will roll in looking for their  13th straight  victory, something Coastal Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Vista, they will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Canyon Crest Academy at 4:00  p.m. Vista is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1  runs per game  this season.
