The Lake Marion Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 65-31 loss at the hands of Bishop England. Lake Marion has not had much luck with Bishop England recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Lake Marion's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teonna Allen, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danasia Wright, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Lake Marion has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Bishop England, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Marion will take on Timberland at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Timberland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. Bishop England won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wando at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th.
