Briarfield Academy have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Tensas Academy at 7:00 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
Everything came up roses for Briarfield Academy against Prentiss Christian two weeks ago as the squad secured a 60-20 win. Sophomore Tj Baker was the offensive standout of the match for Briarfield Academy, as he accumulated 388 passing yards and picked up 127 yards on the ground. Baker has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 6 games.
Last Friday, Tensas Academy put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Claiborne Academy 72-28. Tensas Academy were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Briarfield Academy took the match and then some with a 38-0 victory the last time the two teams met over Tensas Academy. Whatever the outcome in this rematch, the matchup is bound to be a fierce one since these are two of the top teams in the state.
