Bishop Guertin (Nashua, N.H.) saw its 15-point lead dwindle to eight, but still managed to hang on and defeat
Spaulding (Rochester, N.H.) 24-16 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Tanner Daniels, the Red Raiders went into halftime with a 9-3 lead. The Cardinals scored the winning points with a touchdown that came in the third quarter.
Trevon Scott played well for Spaulding. The junior caught one touchdown.
Bishop Guertin went into the matchup giving up only 11.2 points per game.
BG also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 27-8.
The loss comes after Spaulding defeated Manchester West 50-22 last week.
Spaulding (2-6) will play a Division II game against Bedford next week, while Bishop Guertin (5-2) will take on Keene also in a Division II game.
