Calvary Chapel Academy were the 77-72 winner over the Avon Panthers when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Calvary Chapel Academy took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Avon on Tuesday.
Josiah Guerrier was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Thomas Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds.
Calvary Chapel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Avon, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Chapel Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Atlantis at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Avon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Falmouth Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 13th.
